Sylvia Byrd Ellis, 90, of Pulaski, died Saturday, April 6, 1996 in Highland Manor Nursing Home, Dublin. Born April 21, 1905 in Snowville, she was the daughter of the late Charley Montague and Emaline Silvers Byrd. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Pulaski, and was preceded in death by her husbands, William Hundley Saunders and Jack Tolbert Ellis Jr. Surviving are one stepson, William H. Saunders of Rochester, NY; three step grandchildren, John Cord of Daleville, Anne Saunders Dinnean of Stafford, CT, and Claude William Saunders of Oak Park, IL; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Donald Scott and the Rev. Norman officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski. The family wishes that memorials be made to First Christian Church, Pulaski. Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
