Eleanor L. Burkholder, 83, formerly of Marion, died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in the Shook Home, Chambersburg.
Forn Oct. 11, 1920, in Letterkenny Township, she was a daughter of the late Harvey W. and Margaret Cormany Byers.
Mrs. Burkholder was a member of Church of the Brethren, Fourth Street, Chambersburg. For more than 30 years, she taught Sunday school, and she also was a deacon.
For 11 years, she worked at The Butcher Shoppe, Chambersburg.
Samuel H. Burkholder, her husband, died in September 1966. A stepgranddaughter, a sister and a brother also preded her in death.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Ray S. (husband of Linda) of Chambersburg; Dale A. (husband of Karen) of Topeka, Kan.; and Ellen B. (Mrs. Lawrence) Miller of Harrisonburg, Va.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald W. Byers of Chambers burg and Richard Byers of Waynesboro.
