Funeral Services for Jack Mason Byers, 94, of Forest will be Friday March 30 at 11 a.m. at the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto with Rev. Grant Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery near Forest.

Mr. Byers died Tuesday in Forest. He was born October 27, 1917 to Obe and Virginia Arnold Byers in Forest, TX.

He lived his life in the Forest area and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wells. He was a Master Mason at lodge #915 in Wells. He was a Technical Sergeant in the Army during WWII. He was presented a flag with a certificate stating: "This Flag is presented to Jack Byers, Veteran, World War II, Mediterranean Theater. Served under General Patton, 7th Army, and General Clark, 5th Army."

 He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Estelle Byers, his mother and father, Brothers Lee, R.J., Henry, and Morris Byers, Sisters Clara Wallace, Ruth Barron, Elizabeth Hearne Chandler, and Dorothy Bobbitt.

Survivors Include: Daughter: Pat Thompson of Forest, TX; Sister: Virginia Baugh; Grandchildren: Felicia Varasuell, Angela Greenville, and Mason and Crystle Rogers.; Great Grandchildren: Crystal Stephens, Amber Bell, Heather Goodwin, Justin and Megan Greenville, Justin and Lacey McClure, Tara Greenville, Garrett Rogers, Destiny Rogers, and Jesie Rogers

Pallbearers: Carl Truett, Jerry Peek, Larry Jo Bailey, Justin Greenville, Justin McClure, Raymond Bell, Arnold Ray Hodges Honorary Pallbearers: Garrett Rogers, Dakota Phillips.

Visitation will be held Thursday March 29th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Alto. O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home, Alto
