Carolyn Mae Byers, 70, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

Born Oct. 3, 1939, at Earlton, to Claude C. and Veneta G. Claycomb Uhrig.

She was a 1957 graduate of Plevna High School, belonged to First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

On Nov. 14, 1959, she married Larry E. Byers at Plevna Community Church. He survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Vicky Kay and husband Albert Allala, Burrton, and Anita Moore, Hutchinson; one sister, Janelle and husband Brad Evans, Cleburne, Texas; ten grandchildren, Brandon Byers, Josh Geiger, Kyle Cohen, Skyler Cohen, Bryan Green, Shawn Beatty, Dylan Beatty, Austin Beatty, Jamie Beatty, Dakota Beatty; and one great-grandson, Tage Aaron Green. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stafford Cemetery, with Pastor Stephen Taylor officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.

Memorial gifts may be made to the church in care of the mortuary.
