Duane R Buxton was born May 28, 1928 in Waldorf, Minn. to Lois Luella (Fleming) Buxton and Robert Clifford Buxton. He graduated from Cromwell Community High School. Duane served in the Marine Corps from January 1952 to December 1953. On November 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Wanda Jean Milner in Cincinnati, Iowa. He lived most of his adult life in Creston where he farmed and also drove a school bus for over 20 years. Duane was a member of the Williamson American Legion Post #719, Local Card clubs, Creston Elks Lodge #605 and the Creston Chorus.
Duane is survived by his wife Wanda Buxton of Creston, one son Greg (wife Stacey) Buxton of Creston, his daughter Annette Buxton-Hunter (husband Glenn Hunter) of Ankeny, four grandchildren Taylor and Morgan Buxton and Mike and Matt Hunter, one sister Marquita Buxton Edwards (husband Ralph) of Rochester, Minn., and their children Grant and Phil Edwards of Rochester, Minn. and Lynn Edwards Brown of Chicago, Ill. and his uncle Wendell Fleming of Audubon, Ia. He was preceded in death by his parents Lois Fleming Buxton and R. Clifford Buxton.
