"Aldon L. Buxton
Trotting Horse Trainer dies in N. Providence
Aldon (Al) L. Buxton, 70, well-known trotting horse trainer, died yesterday at his home, 6 Allen Ave., North Providence.
He was the husband of Anna L. (Baron) Buxton, and had been ill for a long while before his death.
He was born in Burrillville, the son of the late George L. Buxton and Edna M. (Taft) Buxton.
With his father, Mr. Buxton had spent his life training and racing trotters throughout New England. Much of his work with the colts and older horses was done at the Burrillville Race Track. During slack periods he also operated a small barber shop.
He was a member of the Roger Williams Lodge, F. & A.M., Centredale.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Miss Lillian M. Buxton, of North Providence.
