Funeral services for Annie Lou Butts, 76, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00PM, Friday, February 17, 2012, at Turner Baptist Church under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Private burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Annie passed away February 14, 2012, in Tyler.
Annie Lou Magers was born February 26, 1935, in Sulphur Springs, TX, to Horace Wilbur and Florence Ophelia Duncan Magers. She grew up in Hopkins County near Sulphur Springs where she graduated from high school. She also attended North Texas State University. On December 31, 1956, Annie became the wife of Dan Wilson and they made their home in Dallas. She was employed as a secretary for Sherwin Williams Company in Garland, retiring after thirty eight years of service. Dan preceded her in death in 1972. On July 5, 1995, Annie married Glen Butts and moved to Wills Point to make her home. She was a member of Turner Baptist Church where she also served as secretary. She was a member of the Fairview Ladies Club and a former member of Eastern Star.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Wilson, sister, Coleta Tunzi, brothers, Albert Magers, G.C. Magers and Robert Magers, grandson, Jeffery Pizer and nephew, Roy McLaughlin.
She is survived by husband, Glen Butts of Wills Point; daughters, Cathy McCormick and husband, Billy Jack and Carey Pizer and husband, Jeff, all of Wills Point; sisters, Mary Lynn of Dallas, and Gladys McLaughlin and husband, Dean of Mesquite; grandchildren, Tiffany Shaw and husband, Bobby, Chrystal Pope and husband, John, Christopher Pizer and Austin Pizer, all of Wills Point, and Robert Olsen of Ft. Worth; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Turner Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
