Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Chapman Button, pioneer Farmington resident, who died Tuesday following a long illness at the home of her son, Don Button, were held Thursday, September 16 from the S. J. Heeney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Button was born February 9, 1857 at the Chapman homestead south of Novi. After her marriage to Charles W. Button on March 11, 1880, the couple came to live on the farm north of Farmington which was Mr. Button's birthplace. On that farm, which has been in the possession of the Button family for over one hundred years, were born three sons, Don, Jay C., and Aaron. Besides her sons, she is survived by eleven grandchildren, a brother, Floyd Chapman of Ann Arbor, and numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Button died in 1903.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Delmore Stubbs of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial was at the North Farmington cemetery.
