Hattie B. Butterfield
1871 - 1936
Riverside cemetery, Farmington, Franklin county, Maine.
[Maine, U. S., J. Gary Nichols Cemetery Collection.]
___
Hattie Hardy was born 20 July 1871. Her parents were Henry Hardy and the former Mary Ridgeway.
Hattie Butterfield belonged to Sons' Veteran Auxiliary, Farmington grange. She worshiped at the local Baptist church.
Hattie Butterfield passed away at a family residence in Livermore Falls. [The original says "Friday night."] Left to mourn were one brother, two sons and three daughters.
- rewritten [due to copyright laws, and site protocols] from the obituary printed [per another contributor] Saturday, 14 November 1936, in the "Sun Journal."
___
Reverend Albert G. Henderson led services held at a local funeral parlor. Interment was at Riverside cemetery. Reverend Henderson was pastor of the local Baptist church.
- rewritten from funeral notice printed [per another contributor] 18 November 1936 in the "Sun Journal."
___
NB: In 1936, November 14 was on a Saturday. So, a newspaper notice saying "died Friday" presumably means 13 November 1936 (although it does not actually say *which Friday.* Sometimes, obits or other notices were reprinted.) Obituary did not give a place of birth.
