AUSTINS - 50 YEARS
Glen and Betty Austin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 8 at the New Salem Baptist Church fellowship hall with a dinner hosted by their families.
The Austins were married December 5, 1946. They reside in Somerset. Rep. Danny Ford presented the couple a congratulatory plaque from the State of Kentucky House of Representatives.

Betty Butt Austin, 84, of Somerset, died Thursday at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset.
She was the wife of Glen Austin.
Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

Services for Betty Louise Butt Austin, 84, of Lakeview Drive, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Methodist Church by the Rev. Don Scilley.
Burial will be at Highland Methodist Church Cemetery.
She died Thursday at Lake Cumberland Medical Center.
Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Highland, she was the daughter of the late Newland and Nannie Taylor Butt.
She was a retiree of Eli Lilly Corp. of Indianapolis and a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Violet James of Somerset.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Taylor Austin.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the church.
Memorials may go to the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery fund.
Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
