Husband of Louisa Ottine, they were married 17 November 1862 in Cincinnati, two months and a week after his enlistment in the Ohio 6th. Father of George, Andrew, Louisa A., Carl, Christina, Frank, Anna, Joseph, Francesca, Pius, John and Genevieve Butsch.
Frank was discharged from service 7 June 1865 suffering from rheumatism and weak lungs. By 1870 Frank had moved his family to Kenton county, Kentucky.
The family were members of Holy Guardian Angels Church in Sanfordtown where the children, starting with Louisa, were baptized.
By 1891 Frank had moved his family to Campbell county, Kentucky where he owned 97 acres of land per road assessment lists of that time. About this time the family became members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church near Gubser's Mill.
