the Carroll Chronicle, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, January 24, 1908.

Mrs. Mary Aller, wife of Rev. Absalom T. Aller, died at their home in Ellsworth, Kansas, Friday morning at 2 o'clock. She had been ill only a few days, having been to church the Sunday preceding her death. She had been afflicted with stomach trouble and death resulted from the bursting of an ulcer. The remains reached Carrollton Tuesday and were taken to the residence of J. C. Butler, the house in which she was born and passed her girlhood. She was born March 4, 1851, graduated at Dr. Reid's seminary in Steubenville, taught in our public schools, was married to Rev. A. T. Aller, a Presbyterian minister, since which time her life and home has been governed by her husband's appointments. Her death is the first in the Butler family of four brothers and three sisters. Remains were interred yesterday at 2 o'clock.

Her obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Friday, January 24, 1908.

Mrs. A. T. Aller, nee Mary Butler, who was born March 4, 1851, at Carrollton, died January 17, in her home at Elsworth, Kansas, and was buried yesterday in Grandview Cemetery. The services were held in the old homestead, which is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Butler, and were conducted by Rev. Kreger, of the Presbyterian Church. The remains arrived here Tuesday night and were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Butler. The deceased was a daughter of Washington and Susan Butler, and of a family of seven children was the first to answer the supreme summons. The surviving brothers and sisters are; W. F., George J., J. C., H. S., Butler and Mrs. Elizabeth Cellars, of Carrollton and Mrs. George Aller, of Hudson. She was married November 12, 1878, to Rev. A. T. Aller, who is pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Elsworth, Kansas. Rev. and Mrs. A. T. Aller left for the west in 1886, and having been residents of either Kansas or Missouri since then, her visits to Carrollton have been few. She was here during the summer of 1904 when they moved from Bolivar, Missouri, to Elsworth. Mrs. Aller had been in ill health for several months, but seemed to be on the road to recovery. She was taken sick in church on Sunday, January 12, and was compelled to leave the services. She grew worse right along and for a few days was in a semi-conscious condition. From Thursday until her death, which occurred Friday morning at 3:45, she was unconscious. Her death was caused by peritonitis. Mrs. Aller was one of God's noble women, who was ever ready and willing to care for the poor and needy. In church affairs she was of great help to her husband, taking an active interest in the women's work in the congregation. She was a woman of more than average attainments and was a graduate of the Carrollton High School and the Ladies' Seminary at Steubenville.
