Armelda Joy Butler, 53 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska, died unexpectedly Friday night, February 17, 2006 at the Beatrice Community Hospital. She was born on December 8, 1952 at Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Robert Lindblom Technical High School in Chicago in 1969. She married Gregory Butler on June 27, 1981 at Belvedere, Delaware and they moved to Nebraska. She attended Christís Place Church in Lincoln, Nebraska and enjoyed movies, board games and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband Gregory Butler of Beatrice, Nebraska. Four daughters Menika, Michajla, Schaleiha, and Xenova Butler all of Beatrice, Nebraska. Two sons Sam and Anthony Butler both of Lincoln, Nebraska. One granddaughter Essynce Butler of Beatrice, Nebraska. Two brothers Willie Porter, Jr and his wife Rene of Texas and Ken Porter of Chicago, Illinois. One sister-in-law Bernadette Bundy of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Della Herron Porter, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Christ Community Church of Beatrice, Nebraska with Pastor Jack Magness officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the familyís choice with the funeral home in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. Online a register book is available for messages of condolence at www.foxfuneralhome.net.
