Martha Frances Butler Bottoms, age 88, of Stanford, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center . Born Wednesday, December 29, 1920 in Boyle County , she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Josie Bugg Butler. She was the widow of Gilbert Cecil Bottoms. Mrs. Bottoms was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Mercer County . She was a former employee of Fort Logan Hospital and retired from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center . She enjoyed yard work and reading.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Nancy Kleckner) Bottoms of Danville; a daughter, Linda (Winslow) Hillis of Bone Cave, TN; five grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Martin and a grandson, Robert Martin.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be held 1PM Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Story officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens . Visitation will be 11AM-1PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Eric Bottoms, Jay Jackson, Scotty Chambers, Dale Smith, Mark Hill, and David Hillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Glen Click, Ray Green, and Bobby Durham.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
