2 Brothers Killed In Auto Wreck
JONESBORO, Oct. 17 (Special) - Funeral services for two brothers who were fatally injured in an auto accident near Columbia Friday morning, have been scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday at the United Pentecostal church in Jonesboro.
They are Felton Butler, 23 [LA state Death Certificate Index says 25], who died around 4 a.m. Saturday in a Columbia clinic, about 24 hurs after his brother Garland Butler, 20, had died of accident injuries received when the automobile in which the two were riding failed to make a curve, left the highway and rolled over.
Rev. Aaron, pastor of the Pentecostal Church will officiate at services, and burial will be in Transport Cemetery at Dodson. Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include the father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. N. Butler of Jonesboro; one brother, Elzie Butler, who is stationed with the armed forces in Germany; six sisters, Mrs. Bill Weeks, Jonesboro; Mrs. Ozie Len Morgan, Ringgold, La.; Mrs. Alvine Carroll, and Mrs. Lela Mae Craton, Pickfall, La.; Mrs. Etoile Franklin, Columbia; Miss Jessie Lee Butler, Jonesobor and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of a national guard unit which will also conduct graveside military rites.
Felton and Garland are shown on the 1930 Census for Ouachita Parish as lodgers in the home of Hardy and Mayona Lynn.
The abstract of his death certificate states he was the son of Nathan and Ellie Henderson Butler.
