Stanley H. Butler, age 84, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2009, after a brief illness.
He was the loving husband of Judy Butler for 42 years. Born in Monroe, Ga., he was raised and educated in Eatonton, Ga. Stanley entered the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving his country during World War II and retiring in 1966. He enjoyed woodworking, country music and spending time with his family.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Judy; son, Stephen Butler of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; daughter, Brenda Breland-Cint and husband Keith of Navarre, Fla.; brother, Troy Butler; sister, Pauline Burnette of Georgia; nephew, Wayne Johnson and his family of Georgia; as well as many extended family members.
The family would like to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice, as well as Dr. Wu and Dr. Christopher Hansen for their compassion and care.
Flowers are welcome, or you may express donations to Emerald Coast Hospice, 131 Redstone Ave., Crestview, FL 32539; or the American Cancer Society, 339 N.W. Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
