Myrtle Mae Adams, 86, a life-long resident of Monroe County and the last member of one of Monroe County's pioneer families, died Sunday morning after a long illness at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Bonnette, in Spencer.
Mrs. Adams was born May 10, 1883 to Jacob David and America Dorinda Findley Butcher, the youngest of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Vesta Dorinda Adams of Chesterton, Ind.; Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Bonnette, R. 3, Spencer; Mrs. Emma Elena Banks, Adelphi, Maryland; one son, Orville Lewis Adams of Belair, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Olive Ruth, died in childhood.
Funeral services will be held at the Greene and Harrell Mortuary Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Robert L. Dale officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: grandsons Thomas Lewis Adams, Kenneth Lee Bonnette, Jonathan Ray Banks, Robert M. Foster; nephews Gail Drake and Ralph Butcher; and Robert L. Dall.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 2 to 9:30 p.m. today.
