Mrs. Eliza Biggers, 85, well-known Fairfield woman, mother of Mrs. Karl Goodall, passed away June 28th at the Goodall home in Fairfield. She suffered from cancer and had not been well the past year.
Eliza Biggers, daughter of Sarah and William Butcher, was born near Albion December 25, 1858.
Her early life was spent in and near Albion. At an early age she united with the Presbyterian church in Albion, later moving her membership to the Methodist church of Fairfield, where she remained a member throughout her life.
She was united in marriage to Webster Biggers, Of Albion, Feb. 8, 1883. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1932. to this union were born four children, all of whom survive. They are, Harry C. Biggers, Chloe Goodall; Frank Biggers; and William Biggers. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A grandson, Ensign Earl D. Biggers is aboard a destroyer in the Pacific.
Funeral services were conducted in the Goodall home with burial in Graceland Cemetery in Albion.
