Born in Henry, Louisiana to Mamie Moss Butaud and Richard Butaud, he had lived in Port Arthur for many years and was retired from Texaco where he worked for twenty years. He also owned various businesses locally and in Georgia and was a very successful entrepreneur; he was also a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur. He was the director of the Port Arthur Senior Citizens Center for seven years and a member of the Knights of Columbus #3195 in Port Acres.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Dale Butaud and his companion Bertie Bennett; Neil Butaud and his wife Ann; daughters, Belle Richard and husband John, Gwin Butaud Yates, Karen Sue Maxwell and husband William Charles Maxwell; sisters, Mildred Connor, Lola Lange, Beverly Guidry, Marlene Bordages; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Enola Butaud who passed away on July 22, 2004.
