DALLAS Ted Busselle, 68, died Thursday in his home. He was born in Salem and served in the Army during World War II. He married Jan Bowling on May 25, 1950, in Toledo. He graduated from Willamette University in 1951. He received his master's in education from Oregon State College and taught in the Dallas School District.
He was principal at Morrison, LaCreole and Academy Schools before his retirement. His memberships included Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Jennings Masonic Lodge. He spent many years in the education of the developmentally disabled. He enjoyed helping children and was an ombudsman for several area nursing homes.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Penny Ricketts of Salem; sons, Mitchell of Corvallis and Michael and Scott, both of Dallas; mother, Helen Demarest of Salem; sister, Clarice Anunsen of Salem; and four grandchildren.
Services will begin at 2 pm Tuesday in Dallas mortuary. Interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice in care of the mortuary.
