Adams, Gracie Pearl "Jeepie"
Gracie Pearl "Jeepie" Adams, age 81, went to be with her Lord on Friday afternoon, the 21st of July 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Adams, and is survived by her four children; sons, Douglas and his wife, Amy, Kent, Kirk and his wife, Sue Bee; and daughter, Adonna Lynn. Her seven grandchildren, Angela, Clare, Douglas II, Ryan, Sean, Mason, and Matthew also survive her.
Mrs. Adams was born to Mr. and Mrs. N.A. Bushnell on the 7th of March 1925 on a farm near Needville, Texas. She graduated from Richmond High School, Massey Business College, and John Robert Powers Modeling School in New York City.
She had a diversified life in many, many fields. She was a legal stenographer for Fulbright, Crooker and Bates. She was a professional model in California, for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, and for Sakowitz Bros. in Houston. She also taught modeling and charm classes at the University of Houston. Later, she had an extensive career in selling fine jewelry from Sakowitz and Carter. Before retiring, she was a receptionist at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
One of her greatest pleasures in life was attending Bible classes at Berachah Church.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the afternoon to eight o'clock in the evening on Thursday, the 27th of July, in the library of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
The funeral service will be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 28th of July, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, with Pastor Robert B. Thieme III of Berachah Church officiating.
The interment will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue in Houston.
