John G. Bush of Lafayette IN, died at Indiana University Health on February 2, 2012, 11:22 p.m. John was born in Hammond, IN on July 24, 1928 and was the son of the late Archie and Marie A. Bossing Bush.

John graduated with the class of 1947 from Jefferson High School, in Lafayette, IN. He was married on September 24, 1947 to Ruth E. Shuster, sharing 63 years of marriage. John was also an active lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 347, in addition to The Knights of Columbus, Retired Eagles Activity Club, and Monon Old Rails, all of Lafayette, IN. John retired from the CSX Transportation Service in 1985 and spent the remaining years of his life supporting gaming and bingo activity for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge 347, Lafayette, IN. John was also a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Lafayette, IN.

John enjoyed sports and cheering the Jefferson Broncho's and Purdue Boilermakers on to victory. He also enjoyed fishing, movies, music, gaming, pet dog, and family and friends. Surviving are, his wife Ruth E. Bush; two sons, Donald L. Bush and wife Mary of Lafayette, IN, John J. Bush and wife, Sheryl of North Hutchinson, FL; daughters Bonita M. Dick and husband Dennis of Noblesville, IN and Sharon L. Powell, of Lafayette, IN; and a daughter-in-law, Julia Bush. John was also a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Bush. All who shared a part of his life will dearly miss his humorous and gentle nature. Go daddy-Go.

Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette, from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday, with Eagles Lodge 347 service at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fr. Dominic Young officiating, with interment to follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ann's Soup Kitchen. Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.com.
