Joyce E (Bush)Lloyd, 81, of Caldwell, Idaho, died September 29, 2014 at home of causes incident to age. She was surrounded by 7 of her 11 children, 2 of her children-in-law, and 2 of her granddaughters at the time. Joyce was born March 24, 1933 in Holbrook, Idaho to Emma Lucile (Bradley) and James Clifford Bush. As a young child her family moved to Malad where she was raised. She was a seminary graduate, and graduated from Malad High School in 1951. That year she was also named Miss Malad, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho and was active in the L.D.S. Institute. It was there that she met her husband R. Duane Lloyd who was from Pocatello, ID. They were married on September 8th, 1952 for time and all eternity in the Logan, UT temple. Joyce and Duane devoted their entire lives to raising, teaching, and supporting their large family. Because Duane was in government service, they lived in many places throughout their lives….Utah, California, Washington, Virginia, Utah, Nevada, Virginia, Colorado, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ogden, UT, Manti, UT, Pocatello, ID, and finally Caldwell, ID. Joyce was also actively involved in her community wherever they lived. Over the years she was involved in the PTA, worked with the Cub Scouts as a Den Leader more than once, served as President of the League of Women Voters, was actively involved in the Pocatello Chapter of the NAACP, and served as a volunteer chaplain at West Valley Medical Center among many other community service opportunities. She was very talented and accomplished in artwork, sewing, cooking, family history research, flower and vegetable gardening, bird watching and identification, and household organization among many other talents. She loved to read many different types of books, but particularly enjoyed Agatha Christie, Dorothy Gillman, and Tony Hillerman novels, as well as gospel study books and biographies. She also thoroughly enjoyed the "funny pages" in the newspaper.Despite all that she accomplished in life, the things that meant the most to her were God, her beloved husband, and family. Joyce was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a strong personal witness of Jesus Christ as her Savior. She served in many capacities and callings within the church. She also served three missions for the church: first, with her husband in Connecticut and New York, second as the mission secretary for the Pocatello Idaho Mission, and third as a full-time Family History Missionary. She tried to reflect her belief in the Savior in her actions and care for other people. She was a true disciple of Jesus Christ, always looking to Him for help in her strengths and weaknesses. She is survived by her son-in-law David Lerma Stickelbault (Brenda), her children Kathryn Ann Claunch (Dallas), Leslie Jean Christensen (Morgan), Michael Duane Lloyd (Cathy), David Charles Lloyd (Brenda), Annette Eileen Belnap (Conrad), Mary Lea Nakayu (Paul), Susannah Jane Groat (Rick), Spencer James Lloyd (Abigail), Rebecca Joy Kirksey (Will), and Rachel Ann Lloyd, 60 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren and at least four more on the way.
