Presidential Pet. Belonging to former President and First Lady George W. and Laura Bush, the black Scottish terrier was given to the First Lady as a birthday present from her husband. The terrier moved into the White House as a ten-week old puppy on January 6, 2005, shortly before the beginning of President Bush's second term in office. The canine was named after a character from Oliver Butterworth's 1956 children's book, "The Enormous Egg." She became instant friends with the Bushes' other dog, Barney. In the winter of 2005, both pets were featured in the White House Christmas video, "A Very Beazley Christmas". After retirement, she enjoyed her days on the ranch playing outside. She passed away from lymphoma at the age of 9.
