In 1889, he started in the tin business, later taking Louis Volberg as a partner.
He m 4 June 1877,Mrs Eliza Thees Buser, widow of his brother, Christian Buser.
Later, that partnership dessolved and Arthur Buser,a son joined the firm.
The deceased had been in the hardware business for 36 years.
Arthur's wife died a year ago and his parents moved into his house.
Survivors were the wife, son & daughter, Mrs E E Ecker, along with step-daughter, Mrs Howard Ireland. Also surviving was sister, Anna Schiebner of Parsons, Ks.
Deceased was nearly 75 years old, was struck by a train between the station and tower at Vandalia. He evidently did not see the second freight train and stepped directly in front of it.
Burial was in South Hill Cem.
