She was the daughter of John Overton Of Memphis and of Mary Goodbar Overton. We know her father had died by 1910, as her mother married Charles Alexander Pope O'Fallon on 24 February 1910.
Elizabeth became the wife of Lewis David Dozier in June of 1916. Their children were James Overton Dozier, Lewis David Dozier III, and Marya O'Fallon Dozier. The family fortune lay in biscuits and crackers, becoming the American Biscuit Company; and later, Nabisco. Her husband was also a grain merchant. The couple was divorced 8 September 1933 in Clayton, Missouri. Elizabeth was awarded custody of the three children which had been born to them.
In less than a month, Elizabeth Overton Dozier became the wife of August A. "Gussie" Busch Jr., who became president and CEO of the Anheuser Busch Brewery in 1946. With Gussie she had Elizabeth Overton Busch, Jr; and August A. Busch, III, who later succeeded his father as head of the Busch empire. The couple was divorced in 1952. She remained in the home they had once shared at 5577 Lindell Blvd, which is where she died. Mrs. Busch was said to be gracious, and have a queenly bearing. She held the respect of her mother-in-law and the love of her children.
As Find A Grave is a cooperative effort, not all children are shown as of 9-17-2016.
