Funeral services for Cecil Busby, 72, of Dougherty will be Friday, Aug 7, at 2:00 p.m. in Dougherty Baptist Church. Busby died Tuesday morning at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital. Rev Jim House will officiate and burial will be in Dougherty Cemetery. Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Busby was born May 26, 1915 in Davis and lived most of his life in Dougherty.He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Dougherty Baptist Church. He married Myrtle Frantz July 20, 1935 in Davis.
Busby is survived by his wife, Myrtle, one daughter, Ruby Crabtree of Oklahoma City; two sons, Edward and Willie, both of Dougherty; one sister, Lucille Busby of Davis, one brother, Jim Busby of Davis, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Busby, June 7, 1974.

SURPRISE RECEPTION HONORS THE BUSBY AT DOUGHERTY
Mr & Mrs Cecil Busby of Dougherty were honored at a surprise reception to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.The reception was hald saturday, July 20, in the Dougherty Senior Citizens building. Host were the couple's three children and their families. The couple's sons are Ed and Willie Busby, both of Dougherty. Their daughter is Ruby Crabtree of Oklahoma City.
Mr & Mrs Busby were married July 20, 1935 and have lived in the Dougherty area all their lives.
After opening gifts, the guests were served cake, punch and sandwiches. Guests were given matchbooks marking the occasion.
