Born June 10, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Raymond Alfred and Lillie Beth Henry Burton. Bruce grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School and then entered the Army National Guard. In 1963 he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the British Isles, London Mission, and continued serving faithfully throughout his life. He graduated from Weber State College. Bruce married Ronda Bradshaw in 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple and in 1976 they built a home in Bountiful, Utah where they raised their three children. He made his career working for the phone company for 30 years. Bruce worked hard throughout his life. At the age of 12 he began cleaning buildings with his father and later he and his brother took over the janitorial business. Bruce developed a love of basketball at the age of 12 and continued playing ball with his friends throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family and was a dedicated father, coach, teacher and friend to his children and their friends. He tirelessly served his neighbors and friends, always willing to lend a hand of service. He was a talented craftsman in wood working which brought joy to him and those with whom he shared his craft. His grandchildren and grand-nephews and nieces loved the special toys he made for them. The grandkids loved to see Grandpa and get gum from his gumball machine.
Bruce is survived by his eternal companion, Ronda Bradshaw Burton of 40 years; his three children Jill, Tyler (Jenna), Grant (Carrie); grandchildren Chase, Elsie, Adelaide and Austin; father, R. Alfred Burton, three brothers, Ray (Susan), Cliff (Shannon), and Gary (Janet); and many loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Beth Burton.
