Mrs. Rowena Burton Dodd, 82, of 2962 West drive, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday (Nove 30) at Bethesda Hospital after a brief illness.
A life resident of Zanesville, she was born Jan 1, 1888, a daughter of Rufus and Harriet Townsend Burton. Her father was a prominent Zanesville industrialist in the late 1800s.
Mrs. Dodd was a charter member of Senior Bethesda League and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Author's Club.
Her husband, Ned, died in 1947. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Sybil R. Burton, and a daughter, Harriett Dodd Norman.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Emerson Fraunfelter of the home; a son Burton of Greensboro, N.C.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body is at Blue Avenue Chapel of Bolin Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Howard Spitnale officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be G. Ronald Dice, Robert Forker, John Graham, William Plummer, William Brown and Eugene Archer.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
