Mrs. Ruth Burton (TIGNALL, Ga.)
TIGNALL, Ga. - Mrs. Ruth Johnson Burton, 75, of Mallorysville Road, entered into rest Thursday at Wilkes Health Care Center.
She was a native of Wilkes County. She was the widow of Julian (Pop) Burton, and was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church in Tignall.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Mallorysville Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gene Wilson, Jim Burton, Lawrence Burton, Allen Burton, Bobby Burton, Tony Burton, Jerome Wilson, and Tim Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Mallorysville Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marion Hammond of Tignall; one son, Joe Burton, Tignall; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mallorysville Baptist Church, 199 Bunch Road, Tignall, GA 30668.
