Judith (Burton) CAMPBELL (1938 - 2016)

With great sadness, the family of Judith Burton Campbell, announces her unexpected passing at home in Spokane, WA on Friday, January 29, 2016.
Judy was born on July 2, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Loyd T. and Flora Giles Burton. After her marriage to Phillip T. Campbell in 1963, the two moved to Walla Walla, WA where they started a family. A short time later Phil's employment brought them to Spokane WA, where they chose to stay and raise their young family. Judy was an awesome stay at home mom who later chose to work for Hallmark where she enjoyed many happy years meeting new people and making wonderful lifelong friends.
Judy was an avid book reader and loved nothing better than completing a crossword puzzle or word search in her spare time. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her Priest Lake cabin. Everyone will remember her famous chocolate chip cookies and Chex mix that she never failed to have on hand. Her generosity to her beloved family can't be understated here; she clearly took great care of us. We can't help but know she was extremely proud of each and every one of us and loved us with everything she had. We will certainly miss her ridiculous and meticulous rituals, her subtle stubborn streak and dry wit, and her great wisdom. Mostly though, we will miss her unconditional love. Judy talked often of her family in Utah and kept us in Spokane apprised to their well-being. Undeniably, her favorite partner in crime was her brother Loyd, as they both clearly vied for the prestigious rebel award. Finally, she often talked about her friends and neighbors who made her feel special. She treasured you all, and we thank you for being a part of Mom's life.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Phil and her parents Loyd and Flora Burton, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by five siblings and their spouses, Wayne and Jan Burton, Salt Lake, Blaine and Ardith (deceased) Burton, Salt Lake, Loyd and Theresa Burton Jr., Donnelly ID, Tessie and Howard (deceased) Mathis, Youngtown, Arizona, and Robert (deceased) and Phyllis Whitmore, Salt Lake; three children and their spouses, Glen and Kathy Campbell, Mead, Susan and Vern Hare, Nine Mile Falls, Steve and Tamara Campbell, Colbert; eleven cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan Campbell and Natalie Speck, Emily Campbell and Klay McPeek, Kaitlyn Campbell, Brad Campbell, Derek Hare, Luke Hare, Kelsey Hare, John and Erin Huynh, Savannah Campbell, Sydney Campbell, and Tanner Wells.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. Interment will follow immediately at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way. Reception will follow at the family home from 12-3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St, Spokane, WA 99202, in honor of Mom's favorite charity.
