Memorial Services for Dathene Williams Burt, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with The Reverend Michael J. Bordelon officiating.

Dathene was born on November 13, 1923 to Otho and Jane Williams of Liddieville, LA and passed away on July 1, 2016 in West Monroe, LA. She was baptized in the Beouf River and a longtime member of College Place Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. She graduated from Ogden High School in Liddieville in 1941. Dathene married Fred Burt of West Monroe in 1947. They had three daughters, Annette and twins, Minette and Janette. In her prime, she loved to work in her yard and enjoyed cooking for her family. She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 56 years, Fred Willys Burt; parents, Otho H. and Jane Elizabeth Simon Williams; and son-in-law, John Robert Lee.

Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Annette Burt Lee of Andalusia, AL, Margaret Minette Burt, Janette Dathene Burt Emerel and husband Gerry William Emerel; grandsons, Stephen Burt Emerel and wife Misty Marie Emerel, and Daniel Burt Lee and wife Constance Nicole Lee; great-granddaughter, Abigail Joy Emerel all of West Monroe, LA; uncle, Jasper Don Williams and wife Mary Williams of Liddieville, LA; and her precious and beloved grandpups, Sugar and Daisy.

The family would like to thank Jean Elmore for her longtime friendship with our Mom. Also, we would like to thank all the ladies at Stoneybrook Alzheimer’s Assisted Care in West Monroe, LA, especially Betty Kennedy and Connie Culpepper, and Premier Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until service time on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter 417 Well Road, West Monroe, LA 71292, or the charity of your choice.

A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date in Ogden Cemetery Liddieville, LA.
