Gladys Williams Burt
Gladys Williams Burt, 97, of Denton died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Care Center.
She was born May 10, 1908, in Birmingham, Ala., to Walter and Lula (Delashaw) Williams. On Feb. 7, 1931, she married Herbert Burt in Durant, Okla. He died in 1999.
She and her husband helped introduce coin-operated laundries in the area.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. The Rev. Brad Springer will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home.
Survivors include two grandsons, Derek Burt of Garland and Mark Burt of Sachse; one granddaughter, Denise Springer of Denton; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and one son.
