Mrs. Cassie Kendig Burruss, 79, of Richmond died Wednesday at Mary Washington Hospital.
A native of Spotsylvania County, she was educated at Front Royal College, and taught school in Spotsylvania County for a number of years. The widow of Randolph Bailey Burruss, she had lived in Richmond since 1946 and was a member of the First Baptist Church there.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Rosebro Jr. of the city, and Mrs. W. B. Grizzard of Roanoke Rapids, N. C.; two sons, G. R. Burruss of Willmette, Ill., and S. C. Burruss of Bon Air, and six grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Sugg, Mrs. Elva Blanton and Mrs. Lil Goyings, all of Richmond.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home, with Dr. C. C. Thompson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Richmond, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
