Jackson - Mrs. Clay Simmons Burrow, age 74, died Monday, July 13, 1998 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 15 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. Graveside services were held Thursday, July 16 at Palestine United Methodist Church, Montpelier, with Dr. John Case, the Rev. David McIntosh and the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating.
The daughter of the late Harris Clay and Allie Pate Simmons, she was a native of Clay County and was a homemaker,. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson and Palestine United Methodist Church, Montpelier.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Burrow, Sr. of Jackson; one daughter, Dianne Butler of Florence; one son, Bull Burrow, Jr. of Clinton; three grandsons; one granddaughter; two sisters, Nell Thompson Hughes of West Point and Melba Hollingsworth of Memphis, TN and one brother, George Simmons of Nesbit.
Pallbearers were J T Hodnett, Hugh Moore, Russell Lofton, Keith Thompson, Raymond Hodnett, Kenny Simmons and Tony Hill.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point was in charge of local arrangements.
