C. R. Burrow Passes After Long Illness
Funeral services were held from Bethany Church at 4 P. M. Tuesday for Charles Robert Burrow with interment following immediately in the church cemetery. Officiating at the last rites were his pastor, Rev. A. H. Leslie of Clinton and a former pastor, Rev. Joe W. Hudson of Bassfield.
Pall bearers were Thomas Victor Garraway, M. C. Griffith, D. A. McGee, Edd Speights, Kenneth Cranford, Curtis Burrow, Lynn and Truett Buckley.
Mr. Burrow had been in ill health for four years and had been critically ill for the past several weeks. The end came at 7 A.M. Monday at the family home near Prentiss just a stone's throw from the old family home where he was born 72 years ago. He was indeed a good man and was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. He loved his home and lived righteously before his children, and when he came to die they all testified that their daddy was one of the best men that ever lived, a tribute he well deserved and merited. He was a successful farmer until ill health came upon him, and made sufficient revenue from his farm to educate his children and give them the comforts of life.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Tyrone Burrow; six children: John, Parker and M. L. Burrow, Prentiss; Clyde Burrow, Laurel; Mrs. P. M. Lee, Jr., Forest; and Mrs. S. T. Stamps, Clinton; one brother, John Burrow, and one sister, Mrs. J. O. Buckley of Prentiss.
