Bernice M. Burroughs, 96, of Perryville died October 15, 2016 at Independence Care Center of Perry County, MO.

She was born August 15, 1920 in Frohna, MO, daughter of Rudolph and Juliana (Lueders) Hellwege. She married Marvin Burroughs on October 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2005.

Bernice was a home maker. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a Charter Member of L.W.M.L. in Frohna.

Survivors include one son and one daughter, Larry M. Burroughs of Frohna and Bonnie M. Burroughs of Chapel Hill, NC, two grandchildren, Pamela (Jeff) Scott and Angela (John) Burroughs Kelly and three great grandchildren, Hannah & Emma Scott and John W. Burroughs Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one baby brother.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel on Wednesday, October 19 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 am. She will then be taken to Concordia Lutheran Church for Service at 10:00 am with Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church General Fund, the Lutheran Home or charity of your choice.
