WILLIAM H. BURROUGHS
William H. Burroughs, of 37 Highland St., Springfield, Mass., died at his home Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. He was born in Argyle, N.Y., Aug 25, 1862. His early years were spent in Vermont, and he had been a resident of this city for the past 35 years.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of this city for the past 32 years, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Men's Club and the Rooster Club.
He was the husband of the late Ellen M. (Simonds) Burroughs. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Edna M. Bonner of Greenfield, and Miss Evelyn A. Burroughs of this city; a granddaughter Winona C. Bonner of Greenfield; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hard of Manchester and Mrs. Annie Botsford of Poultney, and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the Byron Funeral Home. Rev. Otis T. Maxfield, pastor of the First Church will officiate. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the memorial fund of Old First Church.
Burial will be in Dellwood Cemetery, Manchester, at the convenience of the family.
