Myrtie B. Alexander
Myrtie Elizabeth Burroughs Alexander, 89, died March 27.
She was a native of Cobbtown, Tattnall County area and lived the past 60 years in Savannah. She was a member of The Old Line Primitive Baptist Faith and attended Georgia Normal College, now know as Georgia Southern University, where she received a two-year teaching certificate. She taught second grade through sixth grade. She was the widow of Beverly Evans Alexander Sr.
SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Patty Alexander of Savannah; sisters, Nannie Kate Burroughs Sikes of Reidsville, Melba B. Fischer of Island Hope; grandchildren, Lori Lee Farrell, Van Alexander, Hedi Amanda Edwards and Wendy Elizabeth Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Tuesday at NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton.
