Daughter of Charles Lemon and Elizabeth "Eliza" (Burritt) Lemon.

Sister of Sallie Ann (Lemon) Throop, Julia Maria Lemon, and Mary Lemon.

A well-known and popular leader in Canada's suffragist movement, she campaigned for decades for women's right to vote. On 28 January 1916, greatly through her efforts, Manitoba became the first province in Canada to pass a law granting women the right to vote and be elected to Parliament.

She passed away at 106 years of age.
