Rosetta N. Burr, 94, of Lone Tree, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Briarwood Healthcare Center in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree First Responders in memory of Rosetta. Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Rosetta’s services and her family.

Rosetta Norine Halvorson was born on December 22, 1920, on a farm south of South Amana in Iowa County, Iowa the daughter of Nels and Rachel Marian (Jaeger) Halvorson. Rosetta was a 1939 graduate of the Hilton Consolidated School in Conroy. On January 2, 1941, Rosetta was united in marriage to Wayne Schuessler Burr in the First Lutheran Church in rural Conroy, Iowa. She worked at the University Athletic Club in Iowa City for over 23 years. Rosetta was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree.

Rosetta will be deeply missed by her son, Alan Burr and his wife, Nancy; two granddaughters, Kelli Hajda and husband, Peter and Amy Schmucker and husband, David and two great grandchildren, Madeline and Isaac Schmucker, all of Lone Tree.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Milford and Everett Halvorson.
