Anna Elaine Burnside Bigler, age 71, passed away September 18, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah following a long illness.

Born July 4, 1923 in Mountain Ville (Mt. Pleasant), Utah to James Cleveland and Vera McArthur Burnside.

Married Leo W. Bigler September 20, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was an active member of the LDS church and served as Relief Society president in the Emerson Ward and the Sugarhouse Stake for over 25 years.

One of her most enjoyable and satisfying callings was that of a Compassionate Service Leader, serving the elderly and homebound.

Her life was dedicated to serving her family.

She will be deeply missed by the people whose lives she touched.

Survived by her husband of 49 years; a daughter, Debra Bigler Bywater; a son, Gary, and daughter-in-law, Leslie; two grandsons, Gary Scott and Michael Lee, all of Salt Lake City; four sisters, Blanche Olson, Iris Stratton, Winona Vincent, and Erma Tonnesen; sister-in-law, Helen Henderson all living in the Salt Lake area.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Mac, Wayne and Francis.

"God saw you were suffering, that the hills were hard to climb, so He gently closed your eyes and whispered, peace be thine. In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away. Our hearts were nearly broken, you fought so hard to stay. It broke our hearts to see you go, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home."

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 1994, 12 noon in the Sugarhouse Stake Center, 1100 East 1700 South.

Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the stake center from 10:45-11:45.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
