Almetarice D. Addison, 47, of McComb, died June 3, 2005, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Visitation is 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Freewill Baptist Church on Highway 51 South, until services there at 1:30 p.m. Elder James Banks will officiate. Burial will be in Dinah No.2 Cemetery. Young's Funeral Home in Summit is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Addison was born Nov. 18, 1957, in Tacoma, Wash, to Leon Burns of Long Beach, Calif., and the late Laura Addison Ruffin.
She was a member of St. Mary Freewill Baptist Church. She attended school in New Orleans Parish School District, Long Beach, Calif., Public School District and McComb School District.
Ms. Addison was preceded in death by her mother; her maternal grandparents, Pade and Lena Grady Alexander; a paternal grandfather, James Burns; one brother, Bobby Addison; one niece, Angela "Dotta"Johnson; one nephew, Harry "Mann" Carr Jr.; and a devoted cousin, Ruby "Pea" Brister. Survivors include her father; a stepfather, Luscious Ruffin of McComb; five children and their spouses, James Addison, Jason and Renada Addison, Theralisha Bannock, Laticka and Frederick Allen, all of McComb, and Frank Bannock of Ellisville; a grandmother, Rosella Burns of Batchelor, La.; seven sisters and their spouses,Annie and Harry Carr, Shirley and Willie Newson, Georgia Anderson, Linda Williams, Michele and Robert Rollins, Angie Lewis, all ofMcComb, and LaTonya Lewis of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers ,Leon K. and Deborah Burns of Columbia, Ga., Minister Laron Burnsof Irving, Texas, and Kaderick Burns of Long Beach, Calif.; 10grandchildren, LaShondrea, Sherita, Raven, Jason, DeQuarious, Damon Jr., James Jr., Waynesha, Angela and Iyonna; two devoted daughters-in-law, LaShonda Addison of Austin, Texas, and Sinette Carter of Magnolia; five aunts, five uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
