New Boston, Texas-- Ted Melton Burns, 64,of New Boston, died Wednesday, August 3,2004, at his home. Mr. Burns was born April 13,1941, in New Boston. He was a retired supervisor for Red River Army Depot, a member of Siloam Baptist Church and an Army and Texas National Guard veteran. Survivors include his former wife, Emma Burns of Simms, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kelly Burns of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Carla L. Burns of Simms; one sister and brother-in-law, Lenda and Terry Selph of New Boston; one brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Betty Burns of Houston; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Old Union Cemetery, Simms, with the Rev. Benny Anderson officiating, under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Th family will be at hte Emma Burns' residence, Simms.
