HAROLD E. BURNS, 77
U.S. Army veteran; machine operator
Harold E. Burns, 77, of the Piney Hollow section of Franklin Township passed away on Thursday morning, June 28, 2007, at home.
Harold was born and raised in Perkins, W.Va., and had resided in Aberdeen, Md., and Germany before settling in Piney Hollow in 1969. He was the son of the late Mae (Dooley) and Clay Burns, and the father of the late Michael C. Burns, who died in 1998. Harold retired from the U.S. Army as a Sgt. 1st Class in 1968. He then went to work for the Owens-Illinois Kimble Glass Co., as a machine operator, where he was employed for 25 years. He was a member of the Franklinville V.F.W. Post.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie (Stellaccio); one son, David of Piney Hollow; two daughters, Donna and husband Rodney Stiles of Haleyville, and Susan of Piney Hollow; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Matthew and Rodney Stiles; three sisters, Betty Smith and Edith Brown of Ohio, and Ruth Collins of California; four brothers, Ernest, Earl, Eddie, Dallas Conrad, all of Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland, where relatives and friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
