Billy Frank Burns, of Wesson, died Aug. 7, 2008, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 63.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at Rocky Hill Baptist Church in Wesson on Sunday, Aug. 10, with burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Billy Frank was born Dec. 24, 1944, in Copiah County to Marvin Burns and Bessie Burns Hyatt. He was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Kuhlman Electric where he worked in the shipping department. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wardell Burns; and his sisters-in-law, Belinda Burns, Lynda Burns and Jean Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ann; his daughters, Lisa Case and her husband, Stan, of Wesson, and Jenny Burns, of Starkville; his son, Jamie Burns, of Wesson; his five grandchildren, Kayla and Dustin Case and Orion, Blake and Matthew Burns; his siblings, Glenda Horner, Carolyn Goza, Melvin Burns and Carl Wayne Burns; and many nieces and nephews.

Billy Frank was an extraordinary man who loved God, his family, his neighbors and his friends. He was a man of few words but his actions often spoke louder than could be articulated by speech. He never failed to reach out to help those around him when he saw someone in need. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband to his wife, a superhero to his children, a friend to many, but above all, a Christian who loved the Lord and served him daily in sickness and in health.

Daddy, today we say goodbye to you, but only for a little while. Because of our shared love of God and faith in Jesus Christ, I know we will see you again. Until that happy day comes, we will love you, think of you, and miss you with our whole hearts. It has been a privilege to be your daughter, Pop. Rest in peace until we meet again. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
