Mrs. Lydia Mae Bettis Burns, 88, died of natural causes at her Cooter, Mo. home Sunday, March 19 1995.
A daughter of the late Jim Bettis and Lishey Howell Bettis, she was born Sunday, February 17, 1907, in Heber Springs, Ark.
Mrs Burns was affilited with the Tyler (Mo.) Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
On May 18, 1930 in Pearson, Ark., she was united in marriage with Major Stanley Burns who preceded her in death. One son, Charles Junior Burns, a daughter, Marguritte Hegarty, one brother, and two sisters, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burns leaves two daughters: Edna Garcia of Chicago, Ill., and Maxine King of Hope, Ark.; three sisters: Lilia Porter and Nicey Sneed, both of Quitman, Ark. and Delia Patchells of Little Rock; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burns were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 1995, at Bradshaw Chapel in Steele, Mo. with Rev. Matt Cockran officiating.
Burial was at Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter with Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Marvin Childers, J.W. Neil, Thomas Kirk, Tony Daniels, Jackie Rinks, and Mike Smith.
Hononary pallbearers were Don King, John King, Danny King, Tony Garcia and Sherry Lawson.
