Funeral services for Winnie Mae Moreland, 98, of Marble Falls, TX formerly of Rayville, LA were held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Rev. John Robert Black officiating. Interment followed at New Salem Cemetery, Girard, LA.
Winnie was born July 7, 1911 in Burns, MS and passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Marble Falls, TX.
Mrs. Moreland worked at Tabors Department Store in Rayville for many years. She lived in Rayville until moving to Marble Falls, TX in 1999 to be closer to her sister. Winnie continued to receive the Richland Beacon News so she could stay in touch with all the activities in Rayville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon C. Moreland; parents, Patrick and Betty Burns; and her five siblings.
Survivors include her son, Huey H. Moreland and wife, Karen of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Sherry Hansen and husband, Brent of Saginaw, TX and Michael Moreland and wife, Erin of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren, Brooke and Bailey Hansen of Saginaw, TX; special nieces, Patsy Richardson of Marble Falls, TX, Sue Trisler of Start, LA, and Betty Lynn Burns of Rayville, LA; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers were Michael Moreland, Brent Hansen, Walter Trisler, Dr. Rob Maddox, Shelby Maddox, and Aaron Booth.
