Marie B. Bickel, 82, of Roanoke, VA passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Bickel was born December 29, 1929 in Carroll County, Virginia to Samuel A. Burnett & Grace L. Pope Burnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Bickel and sister, Mary Ann Burnett. Mrs. Bickel is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Loretta & Brian Saxe of Warrenton, VA; son & daughter-in-law: Richard W. & Cynthia Bickel of Catawba, SC; sister, Betty B. Lavering of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Jennifer Robertson, Julie Howlett, Jennifer Bickel, Stacie Lee Kennington, Charles Kenningtron; and two great grandchildren, Nicholas Kennington and Reece Howlett. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Ron Denson officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made National Federation of Blind, 200 East Wells Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230 or to the animal charity of your choice.
