LONGMEADOW- Virginia Manville Burnett died peacefully Monday, June 14, 2010 in Longmeadow surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of William and Alice Manville. "Ginger" was raised in the Forest Park section of Springfield, attended Springfield schools, and later graduated from Marjorie Webster College in Washington, D.C. In 1947, Ginger married her childhood sweetheart, Wallace M. Burnett, and raised three children in Longmeadow and later Somers, CT. Ginger was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. She was a member of Longmeadow Country Club and Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, FL where she resided for the past 22 years. She loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing with her friends and watching her children play. She most enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and will be remembered always for her Divine Spirit and love of God. She is survived by her son, Gary M. Burnett and Sofia Marshall of Boca Raton, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Robyn B. and John H. Davis of Longmeadow and son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. Burnett and Kimberley Rhody of Piedmont, CA. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, Ben and Jaime Burnett of Delray Beach, FL, Laurel and Ken Ferretti of Brookline, MA, Drew and Lauren Davis of Longmeadow, Brooke Davis of Boston, MA and Riley, Quinn, and Tatum Burnett of Piedmont, CA, and 2 great grandchildren. Graveside ceremonies will be held on Thursday June 17,2010 at 12:00 Noon in Longmeadow Cemetery , 1363 Williams St., Longmeadow. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
